The community of Hartlepool have now raised over £7,000 in less than 24 hours to support a local mosque. 'Nasir Mosque has cooked and served out almost 30,000 meals to foodbanks and charities of Hartlepool in recent years, amongst countless other altruistic acts!'

Our elders were invited to this country after hundreds of years of colonial rule that contributed to the industrial revolution. They worked the most difficult jobs in factories for paltry pay. We contribute billions to the economy today. We built Britain and we aren't going away.

Over recent days we have seen evidence of racism and Islamophobia. We stand in solidarity with communities who have faced intimidation directly or who now feel less safe. The places and communities affected will need support to repair the harm caused by this weekend’s violence.
