Our commander, Col. Christopher Klein recently addressed the Mississippi River Commission (MRC) at the Greenville Public meeting on Apr 10 to inform the MRC of ongoing District projects during the MRC’s annual High Water Inspections trip on the Mississippi River.

Members of the Mississippi River Commission along with Vicksburg District senior leaders met onsite on April 9th and were briefed on the Arkabutla Dam Repair status by the District’s Dam Safety Office.

Vicksburg District commander, Col. Christopher Klein recently visited the M/V Dredge Jadwin as it was in Drydock at Ensley Shipyard on Friday, April 5th. The scheduled repairs of normal wear and tear are scheduled to last 30 days.

Campgrounds and recreation areas remained full at Lake Ouachita through the weekend leading up to the Total Solar Eclipse 2024 on Monday, April 8th. The Corps received many compliments from visitors on our recreation areas, and no major issues occurred due to the event.
