Ezra Teitelbaum Great- & how is that bad? I was in a community program. We had zero publications in our program in 5 years. None of our surgeons were nationally known. The only way I was able to prove that I am worth an interview in academic programs is scoring 99th percentile on my absites

Omar M Ghanem I don't think this is as big of a change as you think... Instead of "Candidate A: 95%, Candidate B: 80%", the fellowship director will see "A: 78, B: 75". It just allows the use of more accurate data. (Speaking as someone who always scored fairly well)

Omar M Ghanem Ezra Teitelbaum The Elite are generally not persuaded by arguments that this discourages potential upward mobility of the non-elite. They do not see this as a ‘problem’ to be solved. By getting rid of all of the other stuff, then where you’re from and who you know is all that will matter.

Disagree. While technique in surgery is important, clinical knowledge & judgment might be more important The eyes 👁️👁️ do NOT see what the mind 🧠 does NOT know
