In the 1950s, Toronto's Painters Eleven made waves by introducing the trendy abstract painting style from New York into the heart of Canadian art.

Join us for the opening reception featuring new exhibitions: "Beautiful Parasites" by Tammy Salzl, "Through the Gardens" by Laurence Belzile, and "Voices of Vernon" in partnership with Immigrant & Community Services Society and SD 22.

Laurence Belzile, born in Gaspésie in 1994, now resides in Vancouver, BC. She holds a BFA in painting and drawing from Concordia University and an MFA from Laval University.

Jessie Emilie Schmode and Troy Teichrib, a dynamic duo of current MFA candidates and artists, are set to present their latest paintings in an exhibition aptly named "Jessie Emilie x Eye Factory: Reconnection." This showcase emphasizes figuration and urban graphic abstraction.

Join us tomorrow for Crit Club! Every 3rd Thursday of the month, we host a workshop and critique initiative specifically designed to aid high school students in fostering and advancing their artistic endeavours.

Tammy Salzl, a Canadian multimedia artist, earned her MFA at Concordia University in Montreal in 2014. Her work delves into the powerful realm of storytelling, exploring intricate connections between the human psyche and our relationship with the natural world.

Voices of Vernon, supported by the B.C. Anti-Racism and Multiculturalism grant, promotes intercultural understanding. Local organizations, partnering with School District 22, empower students and educators to combat discrimination and racism through conversations.

This Family Saturday, craft fairy houses inspired by Tammy Salzl's exhibit, "Beautiful Parasites," blending surrealism, mythology, and folklore.
