A few more #flowers from my #garden this morning: honey garlic, abutilon, an unfurling ‘Olivia Rose Austin’ bud, gold and rose Aquilegia ‘McKana’, Allium nigrum with forget-me-nots behind, honeywort, Clematis ‘Josephine’, Allium ‘Purple sensation’, and a pretty pink Rhododendron.

Common names for Aquilegia include granny's bonnet, columbine & doves-at-the-fountain. In olden times it was called “Herb Leonis” & believed to be a favourite of lions. It was said that rubbing its juice on your hands would bestow you with the courage of a lion! #FolkloreThursday
