A few for #worldrobberflyday , Neoitamus cyanurus, Machimus cingulatus, Dioctria baumhaueri and Leptogaster cylindrica Soldierflies RS Dipterists Forum
For #WorldRobberflyDay Leptogaster cylindrica, Lasiopogon cinctus, Dioctria atricapilla and Eutolmus rufibarbis. We've recorded 6 species in the garden and another 2 on the allotment, not bad for suburbian Norwich. Read more here arthropedia.co.uk/robberflies/
An undescribed species of Metopilio from Baja California Sur, the only species of the genus known from the peninsula. Found under rocks or wandering at night.
#Opiliones
Unbelievably, I now have a 3rd Wren's nest in the garden!
2 nests have eggs in incubation and another female has shown up gathering feathers, for a nest by the bathroom window.
The mild winter really kept Wren no's high into the spring.
Your day will dawn, I'm sure dawn erskine (aka pistols)
Megabunus diaema with its bulging eye turret (ocularium), crowned with impressive spikes is a species of Opiliones that one would have trouble confusing with any other of the UKs Harvestmen. #TurnFear2Fascination
