Today we celebrate the restoration of our independence in 1990. Freed from Russia's grasp we prospered. We know the value of freedom very well, that's why we support others who fight for theirs.

As satisfaction with the NHS hits its lowest ever level, here’s a reminder that even post-Brexit, people in the UK have a right to receive timely healthcare and can use this right to get quicker – and essentially free – medical treatment in the EU. But most are unaware of it.

For those interested in my book’s argument and whether it’s really worth a read — take a look at this excellent review by Martijn van den Brink in Modern Law Review. It’s not all flattery, I promise!

My book is now available in paperback (i.e. affordable). Check out the new edition: bloomsbury.com/uk/judicial-au… The book has been described as "a healthy and justified antidote to the enthusiasm EU lawyers often show for judge-made law." (Modern Law Review)

Looking forward to seeing many colleagues next week at ICON•S in Madrid! Give me a shout if you’re going to be there. I will be speaking on two panels: a book roundtable for my monograph and a panel on the reasoning of the CJEU from different POVs.

I feel very honoured to learn that my book “Judicial Authority in EU Internal Market Law” has been shortlisted for the Peter Birks Best Book Prize for Outstanding Early Career Legal Scholarship. Thank you @SLS, this is a very meaningful recognition.

I am extremely honoured and grateful to the Society of Legal Scholars (The SLS) for having awarded my monograph “Judicial Authority in EU Internal Market Law” the Second Peter Birks Prize for Outstanding Legal Scholarship. Still feels surreal! SLS Annual Conference

Many congratulations Vilija and so delighted we hosted a seminar on this superb book last year at the UCL Laws PLG seminar series! It is a huge honour and hugely deserved!
