#NDPW2023 Lifejackets and PFDs only work if you wear them. Most boaters involved in drowning deaths never intended to enter the water. There’s a lifejacket for every age and activity. #WearALifejacket #BoatSafety Vancouver Police

Today we assisted BC Marine Mammal Rescue Society with the release of harbour seals “Starlight Reefs” and “Silver Surfer”. They were rescued and rehabilitated for over 2 months by Vancouver Aquarium staff and volunteers. They’re now healthy enough to go back to the wild. No hesitations here! Vancouver Police

Here’s an important safety tip for anyone who owns an inflatable PFD and ventures out on the water during freezing temperatures. #backupplan

This pod of #killerwhales surfaced in #Vancouver Harbour less than 400m from our vessel, so we idled the engines, turned off the echo sounder and enjoyed the show. Vancouver Police VPD Recruiting @ChiefPalmer Join Us! dfo-mpo.gc.ca/species-espece…

Watching the fireworks from a boat? Do a thorough inspection before leaving the dock. Lifejackets for everyone? Nav lights working? All required safety equipment easily accessible? Expect changing conditions, heavy traffic and boat operators with varied experience. Vancouver Police

Will you be out on the water for the fireworks tonight? You'll be joining hundreds of boats and other watercraft -- all competing for limited space. People using non-motorized watercraft, such as paddleboards and kayaks, have an assigned holding area for their safety.
