Veronica Acosta Martinez Veronica, unfortunately no soil monolith from Puerto Rico in our collection. About 28% of Puerto Rico is limestone landscape. We highlight a soil for you from #Cuba instead. It is from a sugar cane estate, developed on calcareous material. Hope you like it! #calcisol #Eutropept

I didn’t know this was going to be done and I only can say that it is an honor to work for USDA-ARS, and I am very grateful for my collaborators at ARS and from so many institutions over my career!! Thank you!

Few years trying no-till and a winter wheat cover crop are showing already many improvements in the soil biological component in this soil in TX! Thanks to producers trying so hard to improve soil health…Lacy Vardeman look at this beautiful cotton you had!!Happy World Soil Day!

I just learned this Monday was the National Soil Health Day (June 23) to recognize the role of healthy soils on food production, clean air & water, and plant-environment-animal- human health. It’s never late to thank colleagues, farmers/growers for your soil conservation efforts!
