The Library of Virginia announced that poet and lawyer Dwayne Betts, founder and CEO of Freedom Reads, will be awarded the honorary Patron of Letters degree, the Library of Virginiaโ€™s highest honor. Freedom Reads has opened more than 300 Freedom Libraries in prisons nationwide.

We had so much fun representing #Virginia at Library of Congress #NationalBookFestival! ๐Ÿ“š We hosted #GreatReads author Mojgan Ghazirad for a book signing, met readers across the country, and shared Festival goodies, including over 2,500 pieces of #VirginiaBeach saltwater taffy ๐Ÿฌ
