James Dickey was born 100 years ago today (2 February 1923 - 19 January 1997) and was Poet-in-Residence and First Carolina Professor of English at USC from 1968-1997. The Irvin Dept. is home to such treasures as his typewriter, life mask, and first editions of his works.
