Harry Gully is a first-year PhD student at the Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN, and he is currently developing a method to detect galaxy protoclusters! He also contributed to the creation of a new catalogue of Ultraluminous X-ray Sources - see more here: doi.org/10.1093/mnras/…
Lizzie Taylor is a PhD student at the Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN working on the evolution of galaxies, researching why they stop forming stars! ✨ {c} ESO
Jimi is a PhD student at the Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN. He works on bridging the gap between simulations and observations of distant galaxies by using a rare type of galaxy known as "post-starburst"! {c}nottingham.ac.uk/astronomy/UDS/…
Kelly is a PhD student at the Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN. She uses LOFAR and SDSS data to look at how radio galaxies in clusters are affected by their environment! {c} phys.org/news/2020-11-g…
Roan is a final year PhD student at Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN, and he is using simulations to study groups and clusters of galaxies! Check out his paper 👇👇👇 academic.oup.com/mnras/article/…
"Tomas, an astronomy PhD candidate (at Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN), talks about his experience of attending a conference with help from the Researcher Academy’s ‘Conference, travel and training fund’" Check out the full text here 👇 blogs.nottingham.ac.uk/postgraduatepl…
Daniel Cornwell (Dan Cornwell), a PhD student at the Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN, presented his work at a conference (Cosmic Cartography 2022: Exploring the Cosmic Web and Large-Scale Structure), and the video is available on youtube! youtube.com/watch?v=xnhbcF…
Lots of good physics news on the feed today, but I'm most pleased that the contributions of members of the @uon_physics astronomy group have been recognised by Researcher Academy for their research excellence & wider contributions to the community 🔽
