We’ve noted the same here, Karim Brohi . 1997 publications showed it at 65%, we showed in 2007 that MTPs dropped it to 50%, PROMMTT 2013 just under 30%, PROPPR 2016 in the low-mid 20% range. Now we are seeing it 18-20%. Strong work around the 🌎 on this! 👊🩸👊🩸UTHealthACS

Yep. We adopted this a few years back UTHealthACS after one if our fellows proposed a new guideline. Been quite a success.

Awesome panel session Pediatric Trauma Soc on pediatric major vascular injuries! When was the last time an adult vascular surgeon attended #PTS? It was great to have multiple perspectives on these challenging injuries!

It is reported statins are associated with 82% decline in venous thromboembolism in trauma patients. Statins could be an adjunctive therapy for venous thromboembolism chemoprophylaxis after traumatic injury. Kelly Sanders Jessica Cardenas journals.lww.com/jtrauma/abstra…

Mike Van Gent presenting at #AmerSurg25 our LITES Network data that (1) we aren’t practicing 1:1:1 consistently even at well known/established TCs, (2) 1:1:1 STILL ⬇️ ☠️ in🩸pts, & (3) we get worse keeping up 1:1:1 over time (need more liquid plasma available). UTHealthACS

My advice to graduating #pedsurgbestsurg fellows- join a practice where your partners support you no matter what! If you get breast cancer your first year, they won't only take your call, they'll shave their heads! Good luck finding that though, nobody is like UT Pediatric Surgery!
