As a kid, Frida Arellanes dreamed of being a Barbie. But her creative nature eventually found an outlet in science and the study of life at the cellular level. Armed with a degree in biology from the College of Science, she plans to become a doctor and serve the border community.

Sarah Mickelson graduated today from UTEP Liberal Arts with her M.A. in political science. UTEP was her fresh start. She thrived here, becoming a Truman Scholar and serving as Attorney General for UTEP SGA. She will start law school in the fall. Congratulations, Sarah!

Carol de Avila Rangel raised five children and worked as a teacher while completing her Master of Bilingual Education from College of Education, proving that anything is possible if you work hard! For her students and kids, she models the courage to pursue your dreams. Congrats, Carol!
