USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park was founded as a memorial park that honors all veterans of all wars. As you enter the park you will see memorials like the Korean Memorial pictured here, honoring those men and women who fought in all of our modern wars.

On this day --April 30, 1964 The $1,000,000 fundraising campaign was initiated to save the USS ALABAMA from being scrapped. The children of Alabama alone raised $100,000! The money raised from this campaign would be used to tow the USS ALABAMA from Bremerton, WA to Mobile, AL.

On December 31, 2024, we said farewell to Executive Director Major General Janet Cobb (ret.) and Assistant Director Pam Jeffcoat. These two dedicated years of service to the park and embodied our mission with passion and purpose.

On January 1, 2025, we welcomed new Executive Director, Commander Mark K. Fields, to the park. We are thrilled to have him aboard and can't wait to share all the exciting things he's been working on to carry the USS ALABAMA mission forward.

On April 22, 2025, we announced Camille Bailey as the 2024-2025 Miss USS ALABAMA (left) and Annalise Wright as the 2024-2025 Miss USS DRUM (right). They both received an additional scholarship, an extra $1,000 for Miss USS ALABAMA and $500 for Miss USS DRUM.

On April 29, 2025, we announced our 2025-2026 USS ALABAMA Crewmates. These young women serve as ambassadors to the park and receive a $2,000 scholarship. Join us in welcoming: Camryn Waite, Madison McNew, Amy Claire Lankford, Margaret Kohnen, Bailey Polk, and Elizabeth Barber.
