28 APRIL 1952 – U.S. OCCUPATION OF JAPAN ENDS

The U.S.-led Allied occupation of Japan ended on 28 APR 1952, pursuant to the terms of the 1951 Treaty of San Francisco. The U.S. occupation was instrumental in rebuilding Japan, turning the erstwhile enemies into enduring allies.
