To reiterate: Brown is trying to impose wage tiers, with lower pay for grads on fellowship (i.e. outside the bargaining unit). They are backtracking on old promises because they hate the fact they have to actually bargain with their employees. This is why we organize!

We found out today the earliest we will be compensated with our signing bonus is May 15. UPI members are being forced to go without for two whole weeks. No other Illinois university did this to their employees. No hardship assistance is being offered in the short term.

UPI members who had their pay cut after going on strike - check your emails for a link to the aid fund. Fill out ASAP. Funds will be dispersed in the coming days. There is also a section on the form to request needed items (eg detergent, household/baby items) from other members.

Going on day 3 since we were told HR would provide guidance on earning back time. The party line is to blame the union for the delay, this is not true. The ball is and always has been in HRs court. Attempts to vilify union leadership are divisive and cynical.

We have now gotten half way through the pay period where we were to make up missed hours & just got guidance from HR - some of us put in extra hours during the last pay period where we had a cut check, but are just now finding out what counts and what doesn’t #GovState

The process for earning time back presented by GSU is cumbersome and insulting, requiring pages and pages of evidence and documentation to prove we worked the hours were saying we did.
