People in Sudan continue to return home, but their needs remain urgent. Between Nov 2024 and Jul 2025, IOM DTM recorded more than 2 million return movements, with a 50% spike in July. Most return to Aj Jazirah and Khartoum. IOM and partners are providing aid, but more is needed.

On 21 Aug, IOM Sudan brought together 16 representatives from 11 government institutions in Port Sudan for a workshop on migration governance. IOM continue to strengthen the national capacity to address labor migration, counter trafficking in persons & smuggling of migrants.
