Yesterday we concluded a focused, solution-driven meeting with the UNOPS Youth Engagement Platform. Together, we committed to embed youth voices in project design, delivery, and strategy. Aligning action with the #2030Agenda and youth aspirations.

Deep gratitude to UNOPS colleagues risking their lives allowing delivery of fuel to Gaza’s bakeries, hospitals & ambulances. I saw it during my visit, March. Now our team run convoys to destroyed areas & evacuation zones. Operating at great risk to access our fuel storage tanks

After 11 weeks of blockade, a narrow window has opened for aid to reach #Gaza. Fuel is moving. Bakeries, hospitals, ambulances are starting again. The #UN2720 Mechanism, mandated by the Security Council, can scale this. What’s needed now is political will, not new structures.

Our UNOPS team of UN2720 monitors worked late into the night yesterday - tracking aid from Ashdod port to arrival inside Gaza. Aid coming in remains far short of what’s needed. We need consistent, reliable access through all corridors - now.

After 11+ weeks of blockade, truckloads of United Nations aid are now temporarily allowed into Gaza. It’s a vital step, but a drop in the ocean of urgent needs. Through the #UN2720 Mechanism, we’re working round-the-clock to facilitate the entry & distribution of much-needed aid.
