The first meeting to establish a regional network around the Drug Monitoring Platform was held with experts from countries in Central Asia and South Caucuses. Participants discussed recent trends in drug trafficking.

UNODC welcomes the adoption of the National Strategy of Uzbekistan on Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking and Drug Abuse for 2024-2028 and stands ready to support its implementation. Through collective action, we can make significant strides in addressing the world drug problem.

On 8 May 2024, UNODC ROCA and the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan signed an Action Plan for 2024-2025 to continue fruitful cooperation, combat corruption, and enhance forensics and criminal justice. The plan supports SDGs 5 & 16, promoting the rule of law and gender equality.

Within EU in Kyrgyzstan funded #JUST4ALL project, UNODC launched an information & resource centre in prison #3 🇰🇬. The refurbished space will provide a conducive environment for the reintegration of prisoners identified for early conditional release/penitentiary probation.

UNODC, US Dept of State INL, and GPO Uzbekistan launched a new project on 'Improving the Effectiveness of the #AssetRecovery in Uzbekistan' aimed at enhancing legal frameworks and capacities in line with #UNCAC .

The #CASC celebrates its 10th anniversary! On 2-3 May in Astana, Kazakhstan, #CASC members and key partners reflected on achievements & next steps to strengthen international cooperation in criminal matters in #CentralAsia , thanks to US Dept of State INL support.

The EU in Kyrgyzstan /UNODC #JUST4ALL Steering Committee Meeting took place with around 6⃣0⃣ rep. from government institutions, CSOs, mass media & int. partners to exchange on relevant activities implemented in October 2023 - March 2024 & to review the upcoming work for Q2-Q3.

During visit of @JoghorkuK to Justice House, #UNODC presented the EU in Kyrgyzstan -funded #JUST4ALL project, its plans to strengthen Probation services in 🇰🇬, incl. refurbishment of the 3rd floor of the House to open a resource, training & situation center for probation officers.
