Partnership by Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, UNICEF ZIMBABWE, local government officials, & @CDC helped bring the #cholera outbreak in #Zimbabwe under control. Amb Tremont observed water quality monitoring in Kuwadzana this morning & the U.S.-Zimbabwe partnership for safe water access.
The current El Niño-induced drought has put children aged 0-59 months at risk of acute malnutrition. With support from UNICEF, CERF - The UN's emergency fund, and USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, we have screened over 61K children for acute malnutrition, improving early detection and treatment of vulnerable children
🔵@UNICEFZimbabwe Rep Etona Ekole highlights the critical role of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene as UNICEF urgently appeals for $84.9M to support emergency efforts for children and women affected by the #ElNiño crisis in Zimbabwe.
I had the opportunity to tour the Kuwadzana chlorination booster with U.S. Embassy Zimbabwe Amb, H.E. Pamela Tremont. I am grateful for the $100K+ support ensuring safer water for 42,000 residents.
