The first phase of a critical polio vaccination campaign in Gaza started Sunday 1 September with UNICEF, WHO, UNRWA and partners. More than 85,000 children were vaccinated on day one. The two-round polio vaccination campaign aims to reach over 640,000 children.

Last week, UNICEF Ambassador Roy Wang played with children at Mukwala community-based childcare centre (CBCC) in Malawi. UNICEF is supporting the CBCC, including by training caregivers in early learning, development and participation of children.

At Chikwawa Secondary School in Malawi, UNICEF Ambassador Roy Wang met some of the girls who have benefited from UNICEF-supported scholarships. These keep girls from poor families in school, with a support package that includes school fees, uniforms and learning materials.
