A few heavy rains can have disastrous consequences in the #Rohingya refugee camps – with shelters built on the edges of hilly terrain always at risk of landslides. Refugee first responders acted quickly to help their community & relocate those at risk🙏 📸Junaied, SMS volunteer

I told Member States today that we will do our best to maintain support to refugees and host countries amidst harsh funding cuts. But doing "more with less" is impossible. We are forced to do less with less. My message to governments: now is the time for renewed commitment.

UNHCR is gravely concerned by the rapidly increasing number of Sudanese refugees crossing into eastern Chad. Nearly 20,000 people – mostly exhausted and traumatized women and children – have arrived in the past two weeks alone.

Thanks to Australia and New Zealand – two countries in our region offering safe pathways for refugees, especially in the family reunion category. Over five years (2019-23) Australia gave more than 24,000 family reunion visas; and more than 4,300 given by NZ. See new report.
