Durable solutions such as voluntary repatriation enable refugees to rebuild their lives. Last week, Govts of 🇧🇮 & 🇹🇿, UNHCR & partners facilitated the return of 422 Burundian #refugees. This brings to 176,371 individuals who made an informed decision to return home since 2017.

Persons with specific needs (PSN) like older persons & people with disabilities face more challenges in displacement. 🙏Thanks to HelpAge Tanzania, PSN living in Nyarugusu Refugee Camp today received cash assistance & supplementary food –this distribution happens every 3 months.

Last week, we bid farewell to our wonderful leader Mahoua Parums, outgoing UNHCR Representative in Tanzania who has worked tirelessly to advance refugee protection and assistance in 🇹🇿. Her presence will be missed by us all, but her impact will always remain. 💙

In Tanzania, 108 refugee students are completing their undergraduate studies in universities as DAFI scholars. Sadly, only 7% of refugees globally are enrolled in higher education. The DAFI scholarship programme needs more support. Read the DAFI Report: unh.cr/66d7322c0
