Today, I had the privilege of attending and representing UNHCR Somalia at the 5th Annual Entrepreneurship Summit, organized by 𝐌𝐀𝐀𝐍-𝐃𝐇𝐈𝐒 Youth Organization This year’s theme, “Investing in Human Capital Development: A Key to Gainful Employment, Poverty Reduction, and Somalia’s Economic


After 2 years + of a brutal conflict, some Sudanese are going back home. Even as they do, millions remain as refugees in neighboring countries, others still joining them, fleeing this war. I spoke to Waihiga Mwaura of BBC News Africa on why those returning & those yet to need support.

#UNHCR, through partner AVORD & in coordination with SWS commission for Refugees and IDPs & Baidoa authorities, handed over 110 transitional shelters at Lawilley IDP site. Officials also visited Barwaaqo 2 to check progress on permanent shelters, supporting recovery for displaced families.
