We are strongly advising farmers to not only practise water harvesting as a precautionary measure for drier times but to also enrol in programs and projects introduced by Government to increase availability and access to water for Agricultural production.

Successful production, especially for crops and animals requires availability of water all year round. We hope that farmers can make good use of the rains for their own economic benefit.

The District Production Officers (who we met again this September) are playing their key role in mobilization and sensitisation of farmers, regarding Ministry programs and projects alongside their counterparts in the Ministry. I urge farmers to utilize the services of the DPOs.
