Yesterday, I attended the Rx Summit where I was honored to introduce leading experts Dr. Volkow and Dr. Delphin-Rittmon as they discussed research methods that help combat the opioid crisis we continue to face. They continue to make a difference in powerful, meaningful ways.

Great spending time with KCTCS President Ryan Quarles to discuss strengthening partnerships with KCTCS to help students and advance Kentucky.

For decades, Mira Ball has been steadfastly committed to her alma mater. Our advancement would not be possible without people like her and her husband, Don. We are deeply grateful for the selflessness with which Mira has served this university and this great Commonwealth.

Today, I was proud to announce that Markey Cancer Center has earned the distinct honor of being named a Comprehensive Cancer Center — one of just 56 in the nation and the only in Kentucky. This makes clear our place in the fight against cancer — at the forefront.

One of the best parts of my job is getting to meet the newest members of the Wildcat family — and those who support them. I truly enjoyed welcoming our students to campus today as part of Big Blue Move-In. Looking forward to a wonderful year!
