Thank you to the Travel Telford team who provided a “fix it” workshop for some of our after school club children. They all made expert bike mechanics, working together to fix three bikes! 🚲

Year 6 have been busy in science learning about light sources, shadows and reflection. 💡🔦Today, they refracted light with a prism and created a colour wheel spinner to see that white light is made up of the colours of the rainbow - the visible spectrum! 🌈

Our Year 5 have used a variety of skills and techniques during their art lessons this term. So proud of the effort and hard work the children have made designing and creating their own Mayan face masks linked to their theme. Super work everyone!

Huge well done to the Year 5/6 girls and boys that attended a football tournament at Telford College today! Super performance and some first appearances for some! Great efforts all round! ⚽️

Year 5 and 6 thought thought about the importance of Harvest in a special assembly. They sang a harvest song beautifully after some brave children read a poem about giving. Thank you for all of your harvest donations! 🌟

Year 6 have been busy with a DT project! They have researched ration packs and biscuits eaten by soldiers during WW1, evaluated existing biscuits and designed, made and evaluated their own biscuit. They have also been thinking about nutrition and food hygiene. Well done! 🌟

Year 6 have celebrated #BlackHistoryMonth2023 by exploring the life of Noor Inayat Khan (the 'princess spy' in WW2). They have also been inspired by Walter Tull (a WW1 soldier), linking to our WW1 topic. They have been busy creating information spreads, posters and PowerPoints.

As past of the RSHE curriculum, Year 6 enjoyed a visit from a police officer to discuss making sensible choices in the future in relation to online safety, alcohol, drugs and knife crime. Well done for super listening and participation! 🌟

Year 6 are enjoying a visit from Hobgoblin Theatre Co this afternoon! ‘The Last Post’ is a brilliant and thoughtful play that really brings the book that we’ve been studying to life. It has also brought meaning to Remembrance and our work on WW1 in History.

Year 6 have been learning about and understanding electrical symbols; they have been building electrical circuits and testing given circuits for troubleshooting. ⚡️

Year 6 have begun looking at the role of war artists and the work of Paul Nash. We looked at examples of his work, and then focused on ‘Men Marching at Night’. We started to draw and understand one point perspective with a single vanishing point. Great work everyone!

Oak Class enjoyed creating Christmas pictures with electrical circuits - they used bulbs for light and motors for spinning presents 💡⚡️🎄

Oak Class have completed their values jar! They received 100 dojos for manners, kindness and respect and voted to have extra playtime as their reward. 🌟
