#PADay Session 2 ☑️ Students participated in a fascinating drug screening workshop to learn more about ongoing research related to the cardiovascular system. They heard from graduate students and even had the chance to visit Jason Fish to see how cells are studied in zebrafish.

A fun day out in the local community! Our team visited two elementary classes to facilitate hands-on workshops. We made Brain Hats in one class and Spaghetti Towers in another - all while learning about important #STEM topics such as neuroscience, engineering and research. 💡

Wrapping up March Break University Health Network with a visit from University Settlement youth. Youth toured KITE Research Institute simulation labs and did a fun #STEM workshop on the bones of the hand. They learned about the importance of rehabilitative care and ongoing research being done to improve this field. 🩻

We have enjoyed getting to know two students participating in our STEM Exploration program these last few days. They had the chance to shadow the amazing Dr. George Oreopoulos in both the clinic and operating room - what a fantastic experience! 🩺

We're kicking off March Break University Health Network with another in-person session for high school students. They toured KITE Research Institute labs and participated in a Brain Injury workshop. Students learned about concussion prevention and did an egg drop challenge to apply their new knowledge. 💡🧠

Slips, trips and falls are a common cause of injury at workplaces like schools, restaurants and construction sites.

CBC News stopped by KITE Research Institute's RampLab facility to learn how footwear design and floor material can be improved to prevent more injuries.

It's always exciting meeting new Toronto District School Board co-op students doing their placements at University Health Network. Our volunteer, Olga, gave students a tour of Dr. John Dick's #CancerResearch lab. They also heard from Matthew Chang, who gave students helpful advice for pursuing a future in #research . 💡
