Our computer scientists UC San Diego not only found a vulnerability in bikes' #wireless gear shifters, they also figured out how to patch it. The work was presented USENIX WOOT Conference on Offensive Technologies this week. Excellent coverage by Andy Greenberg (@agreenberg at the other places) WIRED
.UC San Diego averaged $5M of new research funding a day last year. The Jacobs School won roughly 1/3 of all research funding awarded to the campus: sandiegouniontribune.com/2024/08/15/uc-… grobbins in The San Diego Union-Tribune
Good news from UC San Diego Prof. Dr. Patricia Hidalgo-Gonzalez: As the costs of offshore wind & wave energy continue to decrease, these new sources of energy could reduce the total installed energy capacity required to reach zero-emission grids by 17%.
