Last Sunday, our Head Porter George Cousins joined us on the river for an exciting outing with Clare Hall Boat Club. After seeing George pull amazing splits on the erg during our societies fair last year, we knew that we had to get him in a boat, and the time had finally come! 🚣

Check out our latest paper on #stroke due to intracerebral haemorrhage showing spatial and temporal clustering in cerebral #amyloid angiopathy in Neurology Journal; is there a transient active local process involved? Excellent collaboration of UCL Stroke Research with Simon Fandler-Höfler Uni Graz/University of Graz

Major pleasure to investigate a clinically observed phenomenon: Patients with intracerebral haemorrhage due to cerebral amyloid angiopathy have a much increased recurrence risk within the first weeks/months. UCL Stroke Research Med Uni Graz neurology.org/doi/10.1212/WN…

Feels old-fashioned but sometimes clinical research is just about describing what you see💡fab work from Simon Fandler-Höfler in a Uni Graz/University of Graz x UCL Stroke Research collab that rather intriguingly suggests that CAA might have periods of “high disease activity” associated with recurrent bleeds

Gargi Banerjee (@drgargibanerjee) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Next question of course is what drives this increased disease activity - pin this down and perhaps we can find new ways of reducing or even preventing recurrent haemorrhagic events in CAA after an initial bleeding event - which would be huge iCAA ECR network CAA
