Mass spectrometry is used for ~ 150 x 10⁶ clinical tests / year. ⬛️ It provides solutions that are faster, better, cheaper, and more robust than competing methods. How many clinical diagnostic assays are performed annually by using NGS methods?

This is such great news. I can hoenstly say that I do not know anyone in the world more deserving of this than Brady Lab. An incredible scientist and an incredible human being.

I made a few more tutorial videos on the newest versions of DIA-NN & Fragpipe for those new to the software. Because why pay us when you can do it yourself right? youtube.com/@UCDavisProteo…

Curious how one becomes a "bona fide" researcher. Is there a o-link probe for this? I'd watch out for hook effects on this one. Maybe you could be so "bona fide" it comes back negative?proteomicsnews.blogspot.com/2024/07/41000-…

One of the more useful and free! tools I have found to rename a bunch of files in windows! learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/…

Since moving to DIA I have almost stopped looking at MS2 spectra entirely, except to marvel on how it pulls ions out of that complex mess. Such a change, us dumb humans can't interpret MS2 spectra any more 😭

Ben Neely 🇺🇦 We try look at all the raw data, BPI or TIC. I've also got a process that runs every 30 minutes and makes an image like the one attached for any new raw files across multiple machines. It can help look at a bunch faster cuz just an image file.

Hello twitter hive mind (yes I'm reminiscing about the good old twitter days ) I still haven't found a good cheap material I can use to test phosphorylation enrichment. My mouse liver is not great. What does everyone else use? Should be complex & have lots of potential phos

I wish journals would require methods papers be reproducible by at least 3 labs before it can be published . Think of all the time and resources this would save !

We had another great Proteomics Summer Class this year!! Thanks to everyone who participated!! I have some very prelim data from 2024 & 2023 for the 3 sample prep methods we tested across 50 "newish" users . docs.google.com/presentation/d…
