#Budget2025 - a missed opportunity for students. We welcome the announcement of increased student supports. However #Budget2025, has failed to address the student accommodation crisis. Funding for 1,200 beds is a drop in the ocean of a 30,000 national student bed deficit. 🏡

Once-off measures only go so far in addressing with deep-rooted student issues, e.g. student accommodation and fees. While we welcome some positive developments in the areas of student supports, phD stipends, and core sectoral funding, #Budget2025 has missed the mark for students

A statement from the UCC Students’ Union Executive 2024/25 regarding the resignation of Hayley O’Connell. Hayley has done tremendous work for the Union throughout their time in office and we wish them the very best in the future.

This morning, I asked Cork Dáil candidates to sign a pledge to prioritise the building of publicly-funded and affordable purpose-built student accommodation. Next Thursday, UCC Students' Union will publish a statement telling the student body who has committed - and who has not.
