Couple of knowledge drops/“today years old” moments for me in my latest read, David Grann’s “The Wager” 🤯

Was waiting to see this part—whether those that did not have FAP benefits for med school apps could get ERAS fee assistance. I guess AAMC quietly decided “no” for this year, which is unfortunate.

Currently rereading The Song of Achilles and just rewatched episode 3 of The Last of Us because apparently WRECKING myself emotionally to end the year is my aesthetic.

Good news update: The AAMC is reinstating the “Hobbies & Interests” section for the 2025 ERAS cycle. Hobbies will no longer be an “Experience Type” within the 10-activity limit.

Other hot button ERAS application topic that’s been bubbling: Publications and a potential limit. The AAMC shares today it will not make significant changes to Publications for the 2025 cycle.

New Zoom era experience today: a webinar speaker who needs to change the battery on their smoke detector. The chirp had me walking around the house listening to mine until I realized.

Don’t have a ton to say on here these days but I can’t not share that I saw Sinners today and it was phenomenal. An absolute masterpiece. Ryan Coogler is a visionary.

Very excited to dig into the newest Will Leitch novel “Lloyd McNeil’s Last Ride,” which is out today! Finished his last 2 novels in a matter of days (I recommend those also), which is a testament to how he pulls you into the fictional worlds he creates. Congrats, Will!
