Congratulations to @Leonard_deBoer for a beautiful study that has finally been published in Nature Communications. T cell migration requires ion and water flux into the leading edge. See Leon's thread for more details.

Researchers from the Crick’s Tybulewicz Lab and @UCL have identified a gene that causes heart defects in Down syndrome. By reducing the gene’s activity, they partially reversed these defects in mice, making it a promising target for future therapies. crick.ac.uk/news-and-repor…

Well done to Rif for an excellent presentation at the Crick Annual Science Meeting. Rif presented her work on causative genes of CHD in Down Syndrome, a project shared with Eva Lana-Elola which is now published in Science Translational Medicine! DOI: 10.1126/scitranslmed.add6883

nature.com/articles/s4146… Congratulations to Joshua Biggs O'May and other members of the team for a great paper showing that water influx is needed for T cell activation and division. An unexpected role for water. Likely to be true in many other cell types too.
