How do we still have people/clowns like this in 2025? Mike thinks and wants the UK to turn into the Mediterranean🤣 and complains he’s still cold. He’s fallen for cranks like Alder, never read any science in his life and wonders why he feels let down 🤪 Incredible 🥴

Honest Alder (@tw_timeralder) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Mike thinks if we burn more fossil fuels Britain will turn into the Mediterranean and he won’t have to pay to go on foreign holidays anymore. A grown man thinks that, let it sink in. This is what we are battling educating about climate change 🥴

We’re building an electricity grid fit for the future. This major investment will help deliver long overdue grid upgrades, transporting clean power from where it’s generated to where it’s needed. All part of our mission for cheap, clean homegrown power and energy security.

Not sure his figures for gas are correct but that’s a great price for clean power. It’s fixed to, no volatility like gas which can go way above those prices. Paying about 1p/Kwh more for clean carbon free electricity is a bargain if you factor in costs of emissions & pollution.

This chart shows the costs of early renewables which had ROCs are AR1 CfDs which admittedly are expensive by today’s standards. Prices have come down since. Already commissioned renewable & future renewables are not this expensive. ROCs start to end in 2027 prices will decline.

Honest Alder (@tw_timeralder) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Steve reckons we can get electricity down to about 16p per KWh with a renewables dominant grid. That’s great news. A big Reduction on today, with variable tariffs average will be even cheaper and electrification of heat (HPs) & transport (EVs) we will all lower our energy costs.

David is 2 years out of date. And let’s be honest if he wasn’t worried he wouldn’t be making anti renewable posts every single day. With all that primary fossil energy wasted the revolution will accelerate with electrification of heat and transport.

Does anyone know who funds David Turver and Steve Loftus et al? I’m sure they don’t relentlessly bash renewables purely for heir love of fossil fuels.

China's coal imports fell sharply in April, dropping 16% on year. Gas imports fell 6%. Crude oil imports jumped by 8% but mainly fueled oil product exports and replaced imports, so net oil imports increased by a modest 1.7%. Indicates that fossil fuel demand still trends down.

U.K. Q1 used car sales at highest level since 2019. Battery electric cars recorded the highest growth, increasing by 58.5%. EV new car sales also up. To all those people over the last six months saying there are fields full of pre-registered EV, I think the facts speak for

Two maximum generation records enabled solar to produce 10.1% of Great Britain's electricity in April. ☀ Zero carbon sources accounted for 46% of our electricity 🍃 UK/Norwegian gas fields provided 82% of our gas and 52% was used in homes and businesses. See April's stats👇

Energy security: $100m of solar panels saves a country 30 years of gas imports at 2024 prices for the same 1.5TWh of electricity generated That's a $3b saving in gas imports for each $100m of solar deployed. Fact. ember-energy.org/latest-insight…
