Year 5 pupils from Schools across Cornwall gathered at Truro School over the weekend for the first in a series of three Maths Masterclass sessions; a chance for budding mathematicians to come and experience fun and challenging maths teaching in our Senior School classrooms.

Our boarding community joined over 20 families and staff members from Truro School and Truro School Prep for the annual FTS picnic and beach clean at Watergate Bay. Led by Rob from Beach Guardian, our teams collected buckets of waste materials from the shoreline.

What a wonderful afternoon for our Year 5s and 6s to start their summer term of Thursday afternoon activities. This term the groups will rotate around a plethora of activities including BMX, dance, gardening, water sports and learning about what it takes to be a sports leader.

There were smiles aplenty and heavy kit bags packed as a whopping 66 of our courageous pupils set off on their Silver DofE practice expedition. Good luck to the teams as they head to Dartmoor for three days, covering tricky terrain whilst honing their navigational skills.

Our summer sports have started, and the sunshine even came out to mark the occasion. This term pupils will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of sports including Rounders and Cricket, which our 2nd years enjoyed today.

Sixth Former Henry F, a Racing Driver in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship, has recently been appointed as an ambassador for the Motorsport mental health support organisation Driven Minds.

Backpacks were primed and maps neatly folded, as our teams gathered at Truro School ahead of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition. We wish our teams the best of luck as they embark on this challenge and look forward to sharing more about their adventures soon.

With (foam) javelins at the ready, there was courage, confidence and fun in abundance as Prep pupils were joined by Polwhele and Truro High for our first inaugural indoor athletics festival. Held over two days, it was a pleasure to see so many pupils come together to enjoy sport.

Our WAA netballers had a very egg-citing afternoon, playing friendly matches against their peers dressed in a variety of easter costumes. There were various rabbits, chicks, and eggs all on the court practicing their skills.

Our 1st XI Football team ended the Spring Term by playing their final fixture of this season. For many of our players this is the last match they will play at Truro School and to celebrate their commitment their younger peers clapped them on to the pitch for their last game.

Our pupils at Pre-Prep had a visit from Toby Ashworth, the High Sheriff of Cornwall. Dressed in his regulation court dress, complete with hat, gloves and sword, Mr Ashworth led a fascinating morning assembly.
