Only our Regency Council solution can save Britain from imminent disaster. Mephisto’s inept animosity and Johnson’s empty bluster must now be replaced by men and women of character, credibility and competence. /12

“Getting Brexit Done” will itself save many lives. We must now sacrifice sovereignty to survival. /11

The UK economy is edging ever closer to the ‘event horizon’ of a massive black hole. “Building Back Better” and “Levelling Up” must remain hollow jokes until the winter fog clears. /10

The urgent challenges facing Britain today are both dire and deadly. Without a Trade Deal, chaos will massively impact British consumers. COVID-19 has already pushed much of British business to the brink. /9

There’s no time to change the present Cabinet – the Regency Council will support them directly at last. /8

At the same time, another senior figure (Sajid Javid?) should immediately be appointed Chief of Staff to Johnson. His main role will be to ensure that Johnson is guided from now on by his experienced Conservative colleagues, and no longer by Vote Leave spads. /7

This Regency Council should be chaired by a senior duo (William Hague and Graham Brady?), capable of presenting to Johnson both the consensus and the dissenting views of the Council. /6

An informal Regency Council should be constituted as soon as possible, bringing together the Conservative Chairmen of the principal Select Committees, and the convenors of the new groupings representing the various strands of today’s Party. /5

So the adults in the Conservative Party must now take back control. The solution is obvious. The mature leaders have consolidated their positions in the parliamentary party, and younger ones are now emerging. The Conservatives have not lost their soul. /4

Sadly, this is no time for a pantomime. N° 10 has lost its ferocious focus. Without Mephisto’s incisive brain, how can Johnson decide anything, seriously and methodically? We adults know the answer: Johnson has always dithered, and now is paralysed. /3

And what was he carrying in that box? The kids shout back “his rabbit!” “his voodoo figures!” “a time bomb!” No, we adults know the answer: JOHNSON’S SOUL. Faust has ousted Mephisto, and Mephisto has gutted Faust. /2
