Jack Trice, Iowa State Football’s first Black player, penned an open letter to himself in 1923. Although his life was tragically short, Trice’s words of determination - “I will” - continue to live on at Iowa State in Jack Trice Stadium.

Last week, our CARES crew volunteered at the Trice Legacy Memorial Golf Outing in Ames, helping with registration, setup & tables. We're proud to honor Jack Trice by supporting Trice Legacy Foundation, which provides scholarship & mentorship opportunities to Iowa State University students.

102 years later, Jack Trice’s legacy still lives strong at Iowa State University! 🙌 In 1923, he became the first African-American college football player in the country, and his courage and impact continue to inspire generations.
