About 80-110 million birds are predicted to migrate across the U.S. each night this weekend!

Lights at night can be very disorienting to birds during their long spring migration. To help prevent deadly bird collisions, turn off or dim unnecessary lights!

It's been a marathon but finally it is published! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/br… We show using meta-analysis that different types of pollution impacts plumage colouration, that different types of colouration have varying sensitivity, & that the way u measure colouration really matters!

Areas converted to agriculture are just not sexy for birds!! 🧐 In they were found to be 1.2 X more likely to exhibit reproductive behaviour in forest & 1.5 X more likely in protected areas compared to private forest. Cool research! Conservation Biology

Using >14k observation of bird behaviors, we show Costa Rican birds are more likely to exhibit reproductive behaviors in forest than farms, esp forest reserves (a thread)

Researchers found that Indian wolves are suppressing their howls in landscapes that are more disturbed by human activity. Howling can draw attention + perhaps lead to conflict for wolves
