If Rivian acted right now, how Tesla did in 2022, they’d jack up R2 prices by $20k over the next few months for demand… knowing full well next gen hardware is only ~9 months out. I’m so thankful they clearly messaged autonomy, and chose a fair price.

This happened a lot sooner than I expected. Meanwhile my local RAN in Lynwood, WA is CCS only. It won't take long with R2 for NACS equipped Rivians to swamp the CCS fleet.

Based on the Rivian FB groups, renaming the autonomy suite in conjunction with the trial ending didn’t register for Gen2 owners. While the fine print was accurate, many people assumed the early versions of the extended trial was the default. Fallout from missed deadlines.

As someone who isn't super into white interiors, but loved the Rivian Dune colorway... I'm way more into this "Zen Grey" for Tesla Model Y premium coming out of China that replaces the white. If history holds true, this change is likely destined for the US as well. Thoughts?

Pro tip: If you purchase Rivian Autonomy+ after your trial ended, you’ll want to make sure you restart your vehicle by going to Settings > Vehicle > Service > Restart. Otherwise it won’t appear active.
