Thrilled to join today's discussion on UK-Australia at House of Lords International Agreements Committee on behalf of the SMMT. Tune in at 11:00 if you want to know whether the deal delivers on the UK automotive sector's priorities đźš—

By far, one of the most intersting reads in a long while. Put this in a trade context: the FTA with the EU requires CATHODE active materials to be localised from 2024 (by 2027 at the latest), unless businesses can meet very high value added thresholds otherwise.

The greatest mystery of all times is not the identity of Jack the Ripper or the fate of Mary Celeste's crew; it's what happened to UK's tariff suspensions. #Brexit #trade politico.eu/article/uk-tra…

When it was already allowed to go around even when testing positive, we were told no visits were possible because of Covid. I don't understand why this isn't the headline of every paper. Newborns missed crucial appointments because of pandemic mol.im/a/10955371 via Fake Email

A pragmatic solution that works for the industry, the consumer and the environment. Three much-needed years to get pan-European battery output up to meet demand. Thanks to Nusrat and all in Government for persistence and patience!

A very significant achievement. Professionally, as the SMMT trade policy lead, and personally, as an EU citizen who cares deeply for the environment and the auto industry, I cannot but feel elated to see the only reasonable solution being adopted. Exhausted, but very satisfied.

DBT statement featuring quotes from SMMT, Ford, Stellantis, BMW. Government has listened to the broader European auto industry and helped us achieve a pragmatic solution.

Today is the day that a 10% tariff was not applied to the majority of EVs traded between the EU and UK because everyone decided to be pragmatic and extend the transitional TCA rules of origin provisions. Happy new year!
