10 years later, "Making a Murderer" remains an impactful piece, spreading awareness globally about concerns with the U.S. legal system. "There are people who’ve studied it now and have written articles about it, journal articles," Buting said. "In fact, they teach classes on it”

Brendan’s 20th Christmas away from home. If justice is a breathing example of a moral notion, if goodness truly cuts through cruelty, Brendan should be home. Governor Tony Evers let your first commutation be a just one. Bring Brendan home before your term ends. #FreeBrendanDassey

Brendan Dassey gave a false confession as a child. He was barely 16 at the time but functioning intellectually between the ages of 9-11. Count him among the 60%. Though he waits for his exoneration.

It’s been more than 2 decades since Wisconsin’s last commutation. Advocates want Evers to change that wpr.org/news/advocates…

👉This day 2023. Let 2026 be the year Brendan receives that call. To give a life back must be something for the soul. Perhaps it’s one of the reasons we are all here for Brendan - to be part of something bigger than ourselves. #FreeBrendanDassey #BringBrendanHome

If the law offers no relief. then the law itself demands change. Wisconsin lawmakers have begun to acknowledge that reality. SB 801 & AB 845, though not passed during the 2023–2024 legislative session, may be reintroduced in 2025–2026. What are they? freedomforbrendandassey.com/single-post/re…

Far too many people with cognitive disabilities are swept into the criminal legal system—and punished instead of helped. Our office is proving there’s a better way. We’re pushing for diversion, care, and treatment. The rest of the system should catch up! npr.org/2025/11/01/nx-…

In 2019 Governor Tony Evers said when talking criminal justice reform “If Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian can do it in Washington DC, we can do something here in Wisconsin. And now? Reform is more than granting pardons. youtu.be/OQ7GnLLzai0 #FreeBrendanDassey

Justice and humanity have never been more needed, Governor Tony Evers As chaos descends, please heed the advice of legal scholars and advocates who urge you to commute the unjust sentence of Brendan Dassey. Send him home while he still has one. This is a life saved.

1/3 My new article with Hayley Cleary, Richard Leo & Samara Hoose explores the ways in which grief and trauma can make a suspect so vulnerable to psychological interrogation tactics that they falsely confess to the unimaginable -- killing a loved one. scholarlycommons.law.northwestern.edu/cgi/viewconten…

On this day in 2006, Brendan went to school at Mishicot High like any other weekday. Except that day, investigators Wiegert & Fassbender, armed with the malicious tale told by Kayla Avery, set off a chain of events that led to 4 interrogations over 48 hours. He was just a boy.

If the prosecutor who tried both defendants can make such a statement in closing at the Avery trial perhaps WisDOJ can explain how the same prosecutor tries Brendan Dassey too?
