TSSAA Legislative Council approves a Science Hill proposal that will allow schools to play in three boys and girls basketball tournaments during the regular season.

TSSAA Legislative Council votes to increase the fine for a coaching ejection from $250 to $500.

The fine has not increased in more than 25 years. This adjusts for inflation to create a stronger deterrent for poor behavior.

The TSSAA tabled a proposal to change its residency rule.

The current rule allows transfer students at boarding schools -- but not traditional private and public schools -- to gain immediate eligibility without a bona fide change of address.

After a short discussion, TSSAA takes no action on potentially changing its transfer rule. A lot going on in the legislature that could affect that, but TSSAA saw no need to make a change today.

Girls flag football will be a full TSSAA sanctioned sport with its first season in spring 2025. No discussion about when that championship would be.
