Shabana Mahmood might be talking tough, but look at her record 👇 In 2020 she opposed a deportation flight of foreign criminals. As Justice Secretary she released prisoners early and failed to tag them, then oversaw plans for two tier justice. She won't control our borders.

It doesn’t matter how tough Shabana Mahmood pretends to be, Labour's left-wing backbenchers are already rebelling. They won't go for it. 14 MPs and counting…

I’ll give the Home Secretary her due. Unlike the rest of her party still living in 2005, she has arrived where Conservatives were in 2023…recognising there is a small boats crisis that needs to be tackled but being overly optimistic about solutions without leaving the ECHR.

Well said, Kemi. “If this government scraps the two-child benefit cap, a future Conservative government will bring it back". Conservative Kemi Badenoch slams Labour for their plans to raise taxes on pensioners and working people, to increase benefits.

📣 Mel & Kemi - a great team with a clear plan. Only Conservatives will live within our means and keep the 2-child benefit limit. Reform, Labour, Lib Dems and Greens would all scrap it, borrow more and leave our children to pay the bill. A stronger economy. A better future. 🇬🇧

Badenoch vows to bring back the two-child benefit cap if Labour scrap it 'The Conservative Party are the only party in this country committed to living within our means,' she says

Mark Vipond (@markvipond) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Conservatives are literally the ONLY party committed to the two-child benefit cap. The other parties - including Reform - are happy to lift it, leaving hardworking taxpayers subsidising those who choose to have more children that they can afford.

Without leaving the ECHR, Shabana Mahmood's plan won’t work. She's proposed a few welcome steps, but they’re still baby steps. So here’s our offer: sit down with us, drop the party politics, and let’s find a way of working together to get illegal migration under control.

Next week Rachel Reeves will try to sell you a story. In her imagination she is the heroic Chancellor battling forces beyond her control. It is nonsense. The truth is simple: Labour are about to raise your taxes to spend more on welfare because Keir Starmer is too weak to stand

Helen Whately MP (@helen_whately) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Labour is going to tax you more to spend more on benefits. Government is about choices. They are making the wrong ones. It doesn’t have to be this way. Conservatives have a better plan ⬇️

Mel Stride (@meljstride) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Rachel Reeves said freezing tax thresholds for longer would hurt working people and would breach Labour’s manifesto. Now Starmer and Reeves refuse to deny they are planning to break that promise to pay for more and more welfare. Labour is choosing higher taxes to pay for higher

Labour are about to raise your taxes to spend more on welfare because Keir Starmer is too weak to stand up to his left wing MPs. We won’t stand for it. If Labour scrap the two child benefit cap, a future Conservative government will restore it.

Labour’s Stealth Tax Bombshell will hike taxes on people in work to pay for handouts to people out of work. Even Reform want to scrap the two child benefit cap and spend billions more on welfare. Only the @conservatives understand that we must live within our means.
