Friends, I get uncomfortable when I hear “we’re fighting FOR you." I want to be working WITH you. That’s what I’ve seen in building successful communities and organizations: when people are empowered to be part of it, it works.

My friends, we’re going to have to throw our arms wide so that the 99 percent understand that we are with them and for them. That sense of inclusion matters because movements only grow when people feel they belong to them.

I call it green progressivism because labels like socialism and democratic socialism have been smeared for over a century. What matters is helping people understand we’re talking about something that works, for people and for the environment.
