Heat Advisories continue today for NE PA, Catskills, & the Southern Tier, in effect until 8 pm. Later this afternoon, strong to severe storms are possible, with the highest probability for severe storm development in NE PA, Catskills, & the Southern Tier at and east of Binghamton

Air quality will be reduced across the region today as Canadian wildfire smoke remains overhead. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to be in the orange to red, meaning that the air is unhealthy for sensitive groups including those with heart or respiratory issues.

Showers and storms move through the area from west to east, starting this morning and exiting the area by the evening hours. Hot again today, but cooler temperatures in the low to mid 80s expected tomorrow behind a cold front pushing through the area tonight.
