Splendid, yes. But idyllic?

+ no regard for landscape planning, green roofs & walls, greenways, climate-sensitive design, sustainable design - many of which were brilliantly done in 17th century Isfahan under Shah Abbas. So sad.

Sweeping the roof of a public building (a museum in Taiwan) is a really good way of creating new public open space in a city. It gets more sun and less noise than it would at ground level.

The Wimbledon Windmill Museum has a wonderful collection of carpentry tools + an even more wonderful collection of working models of windmills (made by the architect who restored the windmill). I mean the sails work - they do not grind corn.
