Was surprised to see Rice had already racked up 100 appearances for the club but that’s exactly why Arsenal paid that fee. His availability for the last few years has been ridiculous. People forget he has gone deep into European competition with club & country in that time too.

Point has been made before about PSG being a team that seem to tire after electric starts but the same is true of this Arsenal team. And leave themselves vulnerable to dropped points every time because of how badly these attacking players are performing.

The Trent situation feels like a pretty clear warning to Arsenal over Saliba. There is, sadly, an air of inevitability the minute Real Madrid are strongly linked to a player. It’s a massive 12 months for this football club and they cannot squander it.

He’s not wrong. But this should be applied to every football club and not just the one he supports. Pundits tend to think they know more than people who live and breathe their football clubs. They don’t. And never will do.

Not sure it will do much for the heartrate and it goes against the club’s better instincts but Arsenal might have to embrace similar chaos to this tomorrow night. This has been absurdly brilliant. Absolutely nothing like football for this level of drama. Unreal.

Can understand why Arteta hasn’t opted to go for Martinelli as a default No.9 option but when you see moments like this, you wonder why it hasn’t been tried as an option to change things up. Arsenal posed Liverpool problems in the second half because there was a surprise factor.

Just don’t think Sesko is the win-now signing Arsenal are desperately calling out for. He still looks incredibly raw and while I think he has all of the components of a potentially top striker, the clue’s in the word potential. Arsenal don’t have time to invest in a project.

Wild to think Vitinha was scoring the winner for Wolves at Chorley just over four years ago. Absolutely running the show here. #UCLfinal

Biggest-ever win in Champions League final history, eclipsing AC Milan’s 4-0 win over Barcelona in 1994. An absolutely outrageously talented football team and worthy winners. Inter haven’t turned up but this has been football on another level. #UCLfinal

Tribalism has polluted the app beyond repair. City and Liverpool fans spent the last two days hate watching two brilliant young players simply because of rivalry. The following day praising either somehow has to come with ulterior motives. Keep me out of all that please🙏🏼

Was fortunate to speak to Cesc Fabregas last week. Said the following on Martin Zubimendi: “Zubimendi is a top talent, very disciplined midfielder, very well organised and has a good structure to his game defensively and offensively. He’s perfectly fitted for Mikel’s system.”

This is absolutely abnormal from Carlos Alcaraz. The standard of tennis from both throughout has been incredible. Reminiscent of the Nadal win over Federer in 2008 at times.

Can’t believe what I’ve just watched. That winner to seal it summed up how deep Alcaraz had to search to find another gear to turn that game in his favour. A classic that will go down in history and can’t wait to see these two go head to head in more finals. Insane. 🤯

Glad to see we’re back in that position where fans of rival clubs try and point score over each other for individual England players struggling at the end of a long season and remove all context. This is a good advert for how poor the Club World Cup will be.

The thing that surprises me most about the Gyokeres-Sesko debate is how certain the majority seem to be about Gyokeres’ failure to adapt to the Premier League and how certain the potential in Sesko will be realised. Think it’s fair to say that both deals carry a degree of risk.
