Jargon can quickly lead to misunderstanding. An important premise in the world of communication—especially in sales—is that a confused mind always says “no.” How much jargon are you using with clients?

Master the jargon of the person you’re communicating with. If you work with doctors, learn some basic medical terms. If teachers are your target market, do research on curriculum and lesson plans. Be able to create analogies specific to each person’s understanding of language.

The word no is a fork in the road, not a stop sign. In many cases it means, "not that product" meaning they've realized a need for something different--ask more questions to determine if you can still help them. #salestips #SalesTraining

In sales, the person asking the questions is in control of the conversation. Great salespeople ask questions to get their buyers talking about what they want and need.
